Right As Rain

My name is Rainy. I'm a spectacular, big, friendly Percheron-cross gelding. I have a wonderful mind, and I'm not bad looking, either! I'm 6 years old this year, and I'm spending the summer in the mountains, where I'm learning to be a proper grown-up horse!

Trailer Loading Practice

I was supposed to have a lesson up in the mountains today, but I wouldn’t get into the trailer to go. After 2 hours of progressively worsening attempts, my human gave up in utter frustration and called off the lesson.

Then we started working on a new thing: clicker training. It involved a lot of Apple Jacks cereal, and a little noisemaker thing. Hey, just tell me what I need to do to get more Apple Jacks, and I’m there!

I walked right into the trailer, stood nicely, let her close the divider on me, and backed out nicely later. I can be a good boy if I want to be! Then after a few times that way we did it again, but this time with no halter on. It was fun. Then I didn’t want to get out, because I thought she might have more Apple Jacks hidden in there somewhere.

Maybe I don’t hate getting into the trailer as much as I thought.
